Prize for Initiative...

President Barak Obama was awarded the prestigious Nobel peace prize. The award was form the Norwegian government for his extra ordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people and nations.
People around the globe were not impressed “his been in office for just nine months”, most said. Critics said that it put pressure on him to put all his theory into practice.
What I think that most people do not understand is that the award was not for work he had done, but rather for the initiative he had taken towards world peace ( if any is possible) unlike his preceding , George Bush. The award Obama himself said that he realises that the people who had received the award before him had made significant change. However in his defence, it would already seem that the Muslim world is softening up to the West. Obama is also lionized for bringing the United States closer to serious issues like the global warming and multilaterism. I feel that it was clearly stated that he did not get the award for being the wonderful president ending war globally, but the award is for the initiative he has taken towards having a world without nuclear arms. Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics, people are now more hopeful than ever before. He is having talks with states that seemed would never be possible.
I understand that people think that he is still new at this and all the people before him had worked hard for their prizes, in restoring some type of world peace. However it should not be forgotten that he has taken giant steps toward world peace.
